Vueling Expands Portugal-Spain flights by 19% for Summer.
Portugal is among the European destinations benefiting from Vueling's capacity increase this summer. The IAG Group airline aims to strengthen its position in both domestic and European markets, with a focus on enhancing routes from Barcelona.

According to the Spanish publication Hosteltur, Vueling will increase its flight capacity between Portugal and Spain by 19%, adding five new aircraft to its fleet and offering over one million additional seats for the summer. This initiative is part of a broader effort to bolster the airline's presence across Europe.
In addition to Portugal, Vueling plans to increase available seats by 16% for the UK, 13% for Italy, and 17% for the Netherlands. Overall, Vueling will offer 27.2 million seats across its network this summer, marking a 6% growth compared to the same period last year.
Domestically, Vueling will provide over 250,000 additional seats, a 3.2% increase from the summer of 2024. The airline will also enhance its Barcelona routes, deploying three of the five new aircraft to its Catalonian hub, resulting in a 9.1% increase in available seats. In total, 16 million seats will be available from Barcelona, connecting to over 90 destinations, including 70 international and 20 domestic routes.
This summer, Vueling will also increase frequencies on 105 domestic and European routes while introducing new operations such as flights between London-Heathrow, Santiago de Compostela, and Bilbao, with seven weekly services for each route.
